Sushi Utensil Book Design

Based on a documentary film called Jiro Dreams of Sushi, I designed a sushi utensil book to highlight their spirit. The film follows Jiro Ono, the most famous sushi master, who runs a sushi-only restaurant in Japan. It is an intimate view of personalities, craft, culture, and philosophy: all anchored in one man’s singular ideology.

In the film they talk about a craftmenship and a Shokunin which means a specialist. It means that the way of Shokunin is to repeat the same thing everyday. Each members repeat their responsibility using specified tools everyday.
